Stephen T. Wace – Senior Partner

Education: M.A. (Personnel & Industrial Relations) University of Illinois - 1971; B.A. Economics and Sociology University of New Brunswick - 1966

Experience: Steve possesses over 35 years' experience in industry and consulting advising clients on organizational effectiveness, change management, executive compensation, and general human resource and labour relations matters. He has conducted numerous organization reviews with a focus on Performance Improvement and Organizational Effectiveness and the linkages with strategic business plans, and advised numerous Compensation Committees of Boards of Directors. Prior to starting Wace & Associates in 1989, Steve was the National Practice Leader – Human Resources Consulting, and the National Reference Partner – Compensation & Industrial Relations at Woods Gordon (now Ernst & Young). Prior to joining Ernst & Young, he had held the positions of Director, Labour Relations and Director, Organization Development for the Maritime Employers Association (an organization representing 72 companies in 7 Eastern Canadian ports with multiple labour agreements in each.

Ross Wace – Managing Partner

Education: Master of Arts, Labor and Industrial Relations University of Illinois – 1998, B.A. Economics and History Bishop's University – 1992

Experience: Ross specializes in conducting and implementing organizational effectiveness reviews aimed at enhanced performance, including short term disability and WSIB claims management programs. In addition, he provides overall human resources strategic direction for clients including development and implementation of human resource policies and procedures. He also provides strategic labour relations advise and counsel, negotiates and administers collective agreements for management. Prior to joining Wace & Associates, Ross was the Vice President, Human Resources for Mayne Logistics Loomis where he:

  • Provided overall human resources strategic direction for Canada covering 3000 employees in 43 locations coast to coast
  • re-structured a regional organization to one organized along functional lines
  • Removed 6% of workforce through improved efficiencies and the centralization of back office functions
  • Reduced grievances by 65% over 3 year period
